A USER STUDY FOR SOCIALFORVALTNINGEN

DIGITAL DISPLAYS IN SOCIAL RESIDENCIES

User testing / Research / Workshops

The aim of this user study was to investigate whether or not digital displays is a good investment for the municipality, by researching how the implementation of the digital displays in social residencies for disabled and mentally ill people affected their quality of life. In addition, the project should determine how the digital display influenced the work processes of the employees and establish profit potential.

OUR APPROACH

The project was approached from a user-centered perspective, in terms of user involvement and getting acquainted with the context of use. Involving the people living in the social residencies for disabled and mentally ill, gives the otherwise marginalised group of citizens the power to shape their own environment and express their needs.

The project covered three different social residencies in Copenhagen. At each location we conducted three workshops that had different purposes. The activities used in the workshop were created for that workshop's specific purposes and also fitted to the abilities of the participants.
